Exam Program Conditions of Entry
Studying for instrumental, dance, and drama exams requires discipline to achieve high results. For this reason we require all the parents and students who enrol in the examination programs to agree to undertake practice on a regular basis. This page highlights the minimum practice requirements for each grade to achieve a good result in an exam. Parents are to ensure that their child is practicing what is required to be practiced each week and is required to log thier child practice and sign thier child's practice diary each week. If a child is unable to practice for an entire week due to illness or an unusual event parents are to note the reason in the diary.
Prelimininary - 30 mins 4 times a week
Grade 1 - 30 mins 5 times a week
Grade 2, 3 and 4 - 45 mins 5 times a week
Grades 5 and 6 - 60 mins 6 times a week
Grade 7, 8 and Certificate of Performance - 90 mins 6 times a week
Children who are unable to maintain the practice requirements for the grade on a consistant basis may be dropped from the examination program.
Taking an exam each year is not a given, if a child has not been able to meet the benchmark for the examination they are working towards they will not be sat for an exam that year.
