Educationally informed, age appropriate and creative are words that are often used to describe the teaching at Hope Performing Arts Centre. We value attaining excellence and seek to promote a life-long love of the performing arts. Our teachers love the performing arts and strive to know and understand how children learn best.
Every child in our studio is supported to reach his or her potential. Every lesson is structured to provide children with the skills to take charge of their own learning and to become better at their art form.
Emma Collyer – Director and Piano Tutor
I hold a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Teaching as well as an Honours degree in Music with a major in composition. I have studied under some of Australia’s leading composers including Nigel Butterly, Colin Spiers and Christian Heim. I am passionate about providing young children the opportunity to engage with and create music. Every child deserves the chance to be musical; this is why I have spent years developing researched-informed music programs for children as well as compositions for piano students that provide solid musical foundations in a way that has our students wanting to know more, wanting to engage more and wanting to create their own music.
